Almost all of the 166 residents of the Eichenau evangelical care center are fully vaccinated. Nevertheless, there have recently been three fatal breakthroughs in vaccination by previously ill residents.

It had been quiet around the nursing homes for a long time. The rising vaccination rate and rising temperatures seemed to take the fear away from the virus. But now Sars-CoV-2 is returning to the facilities. There, too, there are again deaths with a Covid finding – even if, due to the already well advanced booster, in most cases the disease progresses mildly. In the course of the past week, two homes were particularly affected: the Protestant senior citizens ‘center in Eichenau and the senior citizens’ home in Jesenwang.
