Fürstenfeldbruck – Four-track expansion included in the traffic route plan – Fürstenfeldbruck

The four-track expansion of the railway between Pasing and Eichenau for the Munich – Allgäu route as well as the S4 has been included in the federal transport route plan as part of the Germany cycle, reports the passenger service provider Pro Bahn. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, 181 rail projects were evaluated economically, including the expansion of the S 4, with the benefit-cost factor of 1.4 being positive. Accordingly, every euro invested would generate an economic benefit of 1.40 euros. Due to the positive result, these projects are jointly included in the urgent needs of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan and are therefore earmarked for implementation. “This means that the delay discussion with only three tracks can finally go back to the moth box,” said Andreas Barth, Pro Bahn spokesman for the Munich region. The lack of justification for four tracks criticized by CSU politicians is “clearly given”. The decision must now be implemented. “The newly elected Bundestag in September will decide how fast it actually goes,” said Barth.
