For many girls and boys, the new school year starts with a new school bag – the old satchels are then no longer needed. For this reason, the Catholic Rural People’s Movement in Baiern/Glonn/Aßling collects satchels that are still in good condition, which are then distributed to needy families in countries such as Latvia, Armenia, India or the Ukraine via the organization Global Aid Network (GaiN).
It would be nice if the satchels were handed in filled with school supplies. A basic equipment would be, for example, three notebooks and three arithmetic notebooks DIN A 4, two writing pads and a drawing pad. In addition, a pencil case with crayons, felt-tip pens and pencils, erasers, sharpener and a ruler. Families are also happy to have soap (no shampoo or shower gel), toothpaste and toothbrushes.
In order to be able to find out who received the school bag, there is the option of enclosing a card with your own address and the child who received the gift has the opportunity to thank the donor.
