“Fuck Joe Biden” calls in Hawaii – what’s behind the abusive video?

See in the video: “Fuck Joe Biden” calls upon arrival – what this abusive video is all about.

“Fuck Joe Biden! Fuck Joe Biden! Fuck Joe Biden!”

These vulgar greetings are said to have echoed the incumbent US President during a visit to the island of Maui in August 2023.

Clips of the head of state’s arrival, accompanied by insults, are doing the rounds on social media.

The clip is viewed, commented on and shared more than 6.5 million times on Twitter alone.

But what’s the deal with the video? Is the clip really real?

Joe Biden’s insult video is a fake.

Further recordings of the situation make it clear that the abusive calls were subsequently added to the clip – apparently to create a mood against the politician on social networks.

Another fact that shows the video was tampered with is that it is not an isolated incident.

The anti-Biden audio clip has previously been combined with other videos.

The case makes it clear how easily videos can be manipulated by politicians. The addition of a short audio clip makes Joe Biden’s comparatively unspectacular arrival appear to be accompanied by loud protests.

How do we check videos for manipulation in the editorial office? It is important to look at the details. The individual frames of a video often reveal whether a video has been edited. We take a close look at each image and enlarge individual sections. Indications of a fake are, for example: lack of motion blur, unnatural shadows or editing errors. The general rule at stern is: Seriousness before speed. We always double-check facts and material thoroughly before publishing them. For this we work with the cross-editorial “Team Verification” together with RTL, NTV, RTL2, Radio NRW.
