Of course, this is a malicious action and not a massive rally around Marine le Pen, even if the RN is currently promising a photo autographed by Jordan Bardella to new members.
” Good morning. We have received your support for the National Gathering. Your approach is essential to allow us to continue to support your ideas and defend France and the French”. Here are the first sentences of the email with the header of the RN that almost all the deputies received in their mailbox on Monday. “It made me smile because it’s obvious that I’m not going to join”, reacts to 20 minutes Paul Christophe, deputy for the North (Horizons).
A “prestige” membership at 250 euros
Attached to the email, a pre-filled form in the name of each deputy for a “prestige” membership at 250 euros per year. On the same form, each new registrant also undertakes to make a “donation” of 4,500 euros to the party. “I said to myself while reading this email that people less informed than us could be fooled and think from the outset that they were obliged to pay”, deplores Brigitte Liso, Renaissance deputy from the North. A kind of “scam” she believes, like these phishing messages on the header of the national police accusing you of child pornography.
As confirmed by the National Rally, it is not a hacking or misappropriation of private data. The elected officials concerned recognize it, “all this data is indeed public and accessible in open data”, explains Violette Spillebout, Renaissance MP. On the other hand, everyone also points out that it takes a lot of determination to embark on such an undertaking. “It’s true that you have to be a little motivated,” says Ugo Bernalicis, LFI deputy. “Between collecting the data and filling out the form on the RN site, these people must have spent some time there,” said Paul Christophe.
Complaint or trash
What is the project ? No one imagines a maneuver by executives of Jordan Bardella’s party, in particular Violette Spillebout: “The RN denies being at the origin of these shipments and has even announced that it wants to file a complaint”, she assures 20 minutes. His colleague, Brigitte Liso sees it “perhaps the act of a zealous cardholder”. Ugo Bernalicis, he does not ask himself the question of meaning: “Giving audience to a guy who has sent 500 memberships is to make him succeed in his coup”, he slices. But what blow? “It’s a joke from a bad joker, begins Paul Christophe. But it can also be linked to the general feeling of some who want to believe that the only way out is the RN. »
If the general feeling of the deputies questioned tends towards the non-event, this does not in any way hinder possible prosecution. “I know that some of my colleagues have already filed a complaint, assures Ugo Bernalicis. I haven’t done it yet and I don’t know if I will. “Violette Spillebout does not know” a priori no possible courses of action”. Paul Christophe and Brigitte Liso have moved on by putting the email away in their trash. Benjamin Saint-Huile, deputy of the Libertés, Indépendants group, did not even have to ask the question since his confirmation of membership in the RN directly failed in spam.
