Many players know FromSoftware today, mainly thanks to these challenging games. Dark Souls in mind, but also Bloodborne, Sekiro and now Elden Ring. Except that before making these games, the studio was also known for a major license: Armored Core. Published for the first time in 1997, the license is about to make an unprecedented comeback, more than ten years after the last opus.

An opus ready to democratize the license?

Obviously, when we talk about FromSoftware today, it’s mainly for Souls-like. The studio has been shining for several years now with these titles aimed at players looking for a full-bodied challenge, but nevertheless has a few licenses in its catalog, of which Armored Core is one. The mecha game has never really appealed to Western audiences, but the trend could well be reversed with this sixth opus. For the moment, however, we will have to settle for a high-end CGI trailer. Armored Core VI: Fire of Rubicon is slated for 2023 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.
