From Apple to Siemens: These are the most valuable companies in the world

The ranking of the most valuable listed companies has been dominated by US corporations for years. Now the hyped topic of artificial intelligence is also increasing its dominance. According to a recent evaluation by the management consultancy EY, US tech giants in particular increased in value in the first half of the year.

There are now 23 technology companies among the 100 most valuable companies in the world, compared to 19 six months ago. The value of these companies increased by 45 percent in the first half of the year, far more than in any other industry. “The current AI boom shows it very clearly: Once again, it is primarily US companies that are benefiting from a new megatrend on the stock exchanges and are gaining in importance,” says Henrik Ahlers, CEO of EY. In total, the top 100 companies are currently worth $34 trillion, of which $24 trillion is attributable to US corporations.

62 out of 100 corporations from the USA

A total of 62 of the 100 most expensive stock exchange groups come from the USA. Only 19 companies have their headquarters in Europe, of which the French luxury goods group LVMH is the 12th most valuable. From Germany, SAP and Siemens manage to return to the top 100, six months ago they were just outside the hundred club. Our photo series shows which companies are at the top.
