Foreign companies are likely to have invested more in Germany in 2022 than expected. The number of new settlements could have increased compared to 2021, said the managing director of the federal business development company Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), Robert Hermann. “It’s still evolving upwards,” he said. Figures for 2022 would be available in a few months. There is also a positive trend and no dip in inquiries for which investments are being initiated. “There is no hesitation about Germany as a business location,” said Hermann in view of the debates about the threat of de-industrialization as a result of the drastic increase in energy prices as a result of the Russian war against Ukraine.
