Fritz back at Lenglen, Swiatek, Rune and Zverev on the Central… The program for Saturday June 3

Welcome to a Roland-Garros without French people day 2 (promise, we will stop this count soon). The weekend is coming and we find ourselves with some nice little posters, even if we won’t have the right to the Alcaraz-Djokovic tandem (the appointment is made for Sunday). Without further ado, come and consult the program of 20 minutes.

For once, if we had been called upon by the Fed (and no, we don’t have that power), we would have devoted a night session to women’s tennis for the first time. Frankly the opportunity was ideal: no Alcaraz or Djokovic on the menu, more French de facto, but above all a real poster that the general public will want to follow. We are therefore talking about the revelation of the tournament, the Russian Mirra Andreeva (just 16 years old, SIXTEEN YEARS), of which we absolutely know nothing of the limits (she announced that she wanted to aim for 25 Grand Slam titles for information).

Remember that she bent her first two opponents as hard as she could, with six games lost… over all of these first two rounds! In front of her, there is a sacred client, with the American Coco Gauff, seeded number 6 and finalist last year here. It’s funny, we would almost take her for a veteran in comparison with Andreeva, when she is 19 years old. Next gen, next kif…

In the order of matches this Saturday, we will have as first seed Elena Rybakina (number 4), opposed to the Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo on the Philippe-Chatrier court. In the women’s draw, we will have a little later the great favorite of the tournament Iga Swiatek, who we do not imagine in difficulty against Xinyu Wang. Ons Jabeur (number 7) will end the day on the Lenglen against Olga Danilovic. Regarding the men, Casper Ruud will open the ball on Lenglen against Zhang. Then Holger Rune will be the first headliner expected in the programming of the Central, against the Argentinian Olivieri. And we will obviously have Sascha Zverev in a night session on the Central. And yes, he continues the bugger, and this time he will find a solid opposition with Frances Tiafoe (number 12).

Ahahah, it still makes us laugh to keep this paragraph until the end of our Roland program.

Oh no, 7°C this Saturday and a drizzle that should last all day. Obviously, we’re kidding, to pimp this newspaper a little. So it will go up to 25°C today a priori, without clouds or real wind, so nothing new under the (powerful) sun.

And hop, a big curiosity of the day’s programming, especially for us French. You have it ? And yes, the American Taylor Fritz is already back this Saturday afternoon, and it will be… at Suzanne-Lenglen, where it started in a brioche Thursday evening against Arthur Rinderknech. Would the French public have more ideas, even if there is no more tricolor to encourage in front. The seeded number 9 will face the Argentinian Cerundolo (number 23). He may be a clear favourite, but one wonders how heavy it could be for him to find himself perhaps again in a negative context. And opposite it will be tough, so we say to ourselves that the surprise of the day may be there. We’re going to bring some popcorn for the occasion.
