FC Barcelona’s friendly match against Juventus in San Francisco on Saturday has been canceled due to an outbreak of gastroenteritis within the Catalan club.
“FC Barcelona informs that the match against Juventus, scheduled for July 22 as part of the Soccer Champions Tour has been canceled. A significant part of the Blaugrana team is suffering from viral gastroenteritis,” FC Barcelona said in a statement. The names of the affected players have not been released.
The game at Levi’s Stadium, home of the 68,500-capacity San Francisco 49ers, is part of the Soccer Champions Tour, which brings together six top European clubs, all keen to conquer the American market.

FC Barcelona are scheduled to play Premier League club Arsenal on Wednesday in Los Angeles before facing Spanish rivals Real Madrid next Saturday in Dallas.
Barca are due to end their tour with a game against AC Milan in Las Vegas on August 1.
