French people spend around 45 minutes a day in the toilet, according to a survey

What better place on Earth to carry out some necessary introspection than the bathroom? This is what 7% of respondents think about a OpinionWay survey for the Unblockers company*. They thus believe that the WC is above all a place for “reflection”, where it is recommended to use “this time to take advantage of the big questions”. Likewise, 25% of respondents say they have already made a big decision when they were in the bathroom. Better than 4% only make crucial choices for their lives while sitting on the telescope!

But to mature a good decision, it takes time and this same survey tells us that on average, the French spend 45 minutes per day in toilets. However, there is a difference between men and women, since the latter spend 54 minutes there compared to 36 minutes for men. Finally, one in five respondents admit to spending more than an hour there per day!

Some people don’t hesitate to make phone calls

So obviously, apart from natural needs, in the toilet, we do something else: whether it’s thinking about everything or nothing (41%), surfing the Internet (27%) or reading a magazine or a book (20%). Some respondents, only 6%, even report making phone calls, which is always a risky activity in the toilet. Finally, in the area of incongruities, 2% of respondents say they take naps there… It must be said that 17% of French people consider the gogues to be “the only peaceful place in the house”.

*Survey conducted on September 13 and 14 among a sample of 1,026 people representative of the French population aged 18 and over. The sample was constituted using the quota method, taking into account the criteria of sex, age, socio-professional category, urban area category and region of residence.
