Those who cycle to the P+R facility at the train station will be delighted. Drivers, on the other hand, could be annoyed: the planning committee of the Freising city council has decided to build a bicycle parking facility and 14 charging stations for electric cars. A transformer station is also required for the latter project. In this way, 412 covered bicycle parking spaces will be created as “double-decker parkers” and 14 parking spaces for electric vehicles. In return, 63 parking spaces for conventional cars will be eliminated. This corresponds to around seven percent of the current capacity for 939 vehicles. The cost is around 980,000 euros. What could delay the implementation of the project: The city administration must coordinate the procedure with the DB Station & Service of the railway.
