The guardianship is over: Britney Spears can decide for herself again. The pop star feels “like being on cloud nine” and wants to celebrate her birthday on December 2nd for a full two months.

For Britney Spears, the first few days after her guardianship ended were, in her own words, an “incredible weekend”. “I felt like I was on cloud nine the whole time,” writes the singer on Instagram.

“I drank my first glass of champagne last night in the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever seen!” On Friday, at a hearing in Los Angeles, all of her guardianship requirements were lifted.

Celebrate two months

She wants to celebrate her freedom and her birthday on December 2nd for the next two months. After 13 years, she had waited long enough, wrote the 39-year-old. Spears also thanked her lawyer Mathew Rosengart, who “turned her life inside out,” and the fans who celebrated her victory with her.

The singer has been under guardianship since 2008 after she collapsed mentally due to personal and professional problems. For years, her father, Jamie Spears, and other officers were responsible for the pop star’s financial and personal needs. In the past few months, Spears had made allegations against her family and caregivers that they controlled and enriched their lives.
