On the day after the general election, Hubert Aiwanger made an unusually cautious impression. At the short press conference for the first election review, the head of the free electorate and vice-prime minister seems almost a little meek and embarrassed at times. The FW won. At least if you look at the official results: Aiwanger’s party has won 2.4 percent nationwide. This means that the FW failed to meet the five percent hurdle. But compared to 2017 they have achieved an increase of 1.4 percent.
