Fred Durst was not allowed to enter Ukraine for five years – that’s the reason

Countless musicians showed solidarity with Ukraine after the Russian attack. Fred Durst, on the other hand, kept a low profile. There’s a reason for that: The Limp Bizkit singer wasn’t allowed to enter the country for years.
Millions of fans know him as the frontman of the nu-metal band Limp Bizkit, which is known for its brutal sounds. Even outside of art, the 51-year-old American is not exactly known for soft-spoken: He has already fought feuds with numerous colleagues and rarely keeps his opinions secret.
But while numerous artists in the USA have shown solidarity with Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia, nothing has been heard from loudspeaker Durst so far. In fact, the singer has a long, complicated history with the country.
In fact, in 2015, the singer was banned from entering Ukraine for five years. This was reported by several media at the time. At the time, the Ukrainian authorities justified this with the security in the region, as the “BBC” wrote.
Fred Durst wanted to buy a house in Crimea
In 2015, Fred Durst wanted to buy a house on the Crimean peninsula and live there for six months to produce films. Russia illegally annexed the area in 2014, and Crimea dreamed of attracting western artists and transforming it into a “new Beverly Hills.”
Durst was then married to Kseniya Beryazina, a Ukrainian from Crimea. As the “Musikexpress” wrote, the musician wanted to get a Russian passport at the time and even asked social media for help.
In November 2015, Durst reportedly held up a sign that read “Crimea is Russia” at a concert in the Russian city of Voronezh.
The Limp Bizkit frontman married Ukrainian makeup artist Beryazina in 2012, but the wedding didn’t become public knowledge until around three years later. In April 2019, Durst filed for divorce. It was his third marriage – and his longest. From 1990 to 1993 he was married to Rachel Tergesen, from this marriage comes daughter Adriana. The marriage to Esther Nazarov lasted only a few months, the couple separated in 2009 after only three months.
