Frankfurt: A supporter indicted for attempted murder during the Champions League match

A supporter of Olympique de Marseille has been indicted for an attempted murder committed during the Champions League match between OM and Eintracht Frankfurt on September 13, the prosecution announced.

Before the start of the game, then during the match, the supporters of the two camps had exchanged projectiles. A distress rocket fired in the direction of the German camp had hit one of the supporters of the victorious team on the ground that evening (0-1) in the neck. Seriously injured, the 65-year-old victim had been rushed to hospital and had remained hospitalized for several days, being ordered four months of interruption of working time (ITT).

Arrested on October 19, the alleged perpetrator, aged 26 and residing in Marseille, admitted during his police custody to be the author of this jet, said the prosecution. At the end of this, the prosecution asked for his provisional detention, a request to which the court did not accede. The prosecution appealed this decision. The defendant will be tried on a date to be determined.
