An apartment near Munich’s Viktualienmarkt, on the balcony facing the backyard, welcomes Franka Potente for an interview. The 46-year-old has lived in the USA for years, where she has worked a lot as an actress since her breakthrough with “Run Lola Run”, including with Matt Damon and Johnny Depp. She is visiting Germany to present her first feature film as a director: “Home” is a German-American co-production, filmed in the USA, in theaters from July 29th. The film tells of a man who spent many years in prison after a murder and who is now returning to his hometown to look after his terminally ill mother. It is played by Academy Award winner Kathy Bates.
