Frank Elstner, TV icon and show legend, turns 80. A conversation about the sale of “Wetten, dass..?” and German television entertainment.

Frank Elstner invented and presented a large number of successful entertainment formats for television, including the most popular show program in Europe: Bet that..?. On April 19 he will be 80 years old. Although his Parkinson’s disease is, as he says, taking a pleasantly mild course and he feels excellent, the father of five children will only be celebrating with his family. Of course it is possible to have a conversation with him about the state of German television entertainment and why many things are better than is generally claimed.
