Franco-Rwandan sentenced to 14 years in prison for complicity in genocide

According to the prosecution, he “knowingly aided and assisted” militiamen “by ensuring their transport” to the sites of the Tutsi massacres. A 60-year-old Franco-Rwandan, Claude Muhayimana, was sentenced Thursday by the Paris Assize Court to 14 years of criminal imprisonment for complicity in genocide and complicity in crimes against humanity for his role in 1994 during the extermination of Tutsi in Rwanda, AFP noted.

Fifteen years of imprisonment had been required against this driver of a hotel, accused of having transported Hutu Interahamwe gendarmes and militiamen to Tutsi massacre sites between April and July 1994 in Kibuye and in the neighboring hills, in the western Rwanda.
