MMA enthusiasts will soon be entitled to their Netflix series. French director Franck Gastambide is currently filming a series devoted to this combat sport of which he is a fan, and which is increasingly popular with the general public. “Passionate for more than ten years by this sport”, he will therefore go out The cage“the first French series in the world of MMA”, as he indicated on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

This series, which takes its title from the octagon in which MMA fights take place, should be available in 2024 on the streaming platform. Franck Gastambide did not provide casting details. But according to the Twitter account specializing in MMA “La sweat”, the project should include Georges Saint-Pierre, Quebec legend of this sport, as well as several French fighters, including Ciryl Gane, Salahdine Parnasse or Taylor Lapilus.

A new MMA evening expected on September 2 at Bercy

At 44, Franck Gastambide has notably produced comedies for the cinema The Kaira (2012) and Pattaya (2016). He is also the originator of the series Valid, devoted to rap and broadcast from 2020 on Canal+.
