Paris is a popular backdrop for cinema films and series – camera crews spent a total of over 7000 shooting days last year on the streets of the French capital. According to the city, 102 films and 68 series were shot in Paris.

The film was shot for the French cinema strips “La vie pour de vrai” by Dany Boon, “Bonnard, Pierre et Marthe” by Martin Provost and the new strip “Wasp 22” by Woody Allen.

But streaming platforms like Netflix often shoot series in Paris with sequels like “Emily in Paris” or “Lupin”. The capital is also the setting for a number of productions for French television stations.

According to its own statements, the city of Paris supports the cinema scene with sums in the millions. There is support for short films that are shot in the capital, but also for the independent cinema scene. Due to the great interest from cinema and television, a special department in the city takes care of the shooting requests. Attention is now also being paid to making film shooting more environmentally friendly, for example by limiting the number of vehicles or power generators used.
