Emmanuel Macron has long had a tense relationship with public broadcasting. After his election in 2017, the French President called France Télévisions channels a “disgrace to the Republic”. During the last election campaign, he initially refused to be interviewed by France 2 journalist Anne-Sophie Lapix. Apparently because the journalist’s tone was too offensive for him.
