How nice, one might think, Christian Lindner and his now wife Franca Lehfeldt united in a thumbnail on YouTube. Only the video behind it from June 22, 2022 is not a recording of her celebrity wedding on Sylt, but a news video from the television station “Welt”. Christian Lindner raises his finger admonishingly, Franca Lehfeldt holds a microphone with the inscription “Welt” in his hands. At the time, she was not only Lindner’s soon-to-be wife, but also a reporter for the news channel. And as such, it also reports on federal politics. “HARD TIMES are ahead: LINDNER prepares for deprivation”, is the title of the video. In it, Franca Lehfeldt then explains what the Minister of Finance (and her fiancé at the time) Lindner means by this: “First of all, in this case, deprivation specifically means rising prices again, quite correctly related to the topic of energy costs.”
