The science fiction series For All Mankind can do a lot, but she can do the first episodes of a new season particularly well. In season one – bam! – the Russians landed on the moon instead of the Americans in 1969: the alternative history of space travel that this very ambitious series tells began. Because of the increased competition, everything went much faster. Not just in space, but also socially. For example, in the series parallel universe, the first woman became US President long before the turn of the millennium. In episode one of season two the bang effects continued. A radioactive solar storm sweeps across the US lunar base. Season three: A massive space hotel in Earth’s orbit blows up. And now, in the brand new fourth season, creates For All Mankind it again, the big visual and emotional boom: a spaceship captures an asteroid for the first time in history.
