“Four in the same tent!” »… In terms of libido, camping makes you aim higher

The different modes of camping evolve, but if there’s one thing that never changes, it’s tent sex. Whether you are an actor or a listener, sex in a mobile home, in shared toilets or under the stars, leaves its mark. “I was a summer camp leader… With another leader, we started a small back massage session and it ended with a mutual sexual massage in the tent during a bivouac… Excellent memory”, recalls with delight Markus 42, who testifies for 20 minutes.

A libido driven by novelty

Indeed, several factors come into play when camping and promote libido. There is already this idea of the lack of intimacy which can inspire in some a more pressing desire. This explains to 20 minutes Aurore Malet-Karas, doctor in neurosciences and sexologist: “It’s a special place, especially under the tent where the question of intimacy is not guaranteed in the same way as at home, there is no There are no real walls, so there is the question of noise when moving around the tent, when slipping into each other’s sleeping bags”, not to mention the noises associated with pleasure. Especially since it changes the routine. “It’s stimulating because the brain likes novelty, it can be exciting,” adds Aurore Malet-Karas.

We found ourselves outside the tent! All naked! »

However, some modest people will, on the contrary, tend to be put off by these particular conditions surrounding an intimate moment. The fear of being surprised, of being seen, of being heard, can both slow down more than one person and stimulate others. In any case, these conditions did not scare Mina, 43 today, and her “first boyfriend”. Recalling a long weekend with friends in the summer of 1989 when the guests had pitched tents in the garden, Mina recounts, in some detail, her experience in the tent.

“We start cuddling, foreplay and here we are in full action back and forth…” Gestures that make the couple slide, little by little and more and more towards the entrance of the tent until the moment when the lovebirds find themselves buttocks in the air, stark naked, completely out of their makeshift shelter. “We found ourselves outside the tent! All naked! Other guests had decided to return to their respective tents at this precise moment, we had the shame of our lives! »

A holiday context that promotes desire

To promote all this eroticism of camping, the season also comes into play. We rarely go camping in the middle of winter, we often wait for the beautiful days, those which favor lighter outfits and therefore “more exciting for everyone”, underlines Aurore Malet-Karas. “It’s nicer, warmer, and the brightness and the heat have positive effects on hormones,” she says. Added to this is the context of the holidays, where the spirit is lighter, more available, especially for women “who have a little less to manage”, less mental load, notes the sexologist. Far from us the stress of work and the constraining hours of the office. We let ourselves go and the libido is reinvigorated.

A first time and in addition to four in the same tent! »

As a result, it is an opportunity to make new experiences. This is how Jean-Pierre, 57 years old today, remembers his first sexual relationship, which ultimately turned into two new experiences. At the age of 17, with “a charming Dutch girl”, they decide to have sex. “In reality in the two-person Canadian tent, there were four of us since a friend joined us, for lack of other places, with his current girlfriend… A first time and four more in the same tent! »

Beware of hygiene

These crisp anecdotes are very beautiful, but a little serious. Because sex at the campsite, if it can have all these advantages, can also be conducive to complications, especially for women. More difficult indeed to take a shower, even to go out to join the toilets and make its traditional and necessary wee-after-coitus. “People prone to urinary tract infections will need to go to the toilet and it can be more complicated in a space like camping”, recalls Aurore Malet-Karas. If an infection is triggered, “some women will regret their intercourse, which is far from ideal,” she insists, recommending having baby wipes with you that “will limit infections and allow you to do not deprive yourself”.

The question of protection also arises. “It can be complicated to have access to a condom or a point of sale in these moments”, continues the sexologist. It is then a good idea to check if your campsite has a distributor, and if not, provide a stock in your luggage. Your body will thank you.
