Four Hills Tournament in Garmisch live in the ticker
- 1. Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN)
- 2. Jan Hörl (AUT)
- 3. Stefan Kraft (AUT)
2:48 p.m. – Ammann – Zajc
125 meters for Simon Ammann. But the wind was better again, so it will be difficult. Timi Zajc is now even on the rise again. That’s why 136 meters is good, but not enough to be right at the front. But fifth place is anything but bad.
2:46 p.m. – Aalto – Kraft
And now the duel with Stefan Kraft. His opponent Antti Aalto from Finland lands at 120 meters. This is not a problem for Kraft. At 133.5 meters he keeps the gap on what is probably the weakest hill within limits. Third place at least, five points behind Kobayashi.
2:44 p.m. – Hamann – Prevc
125.5 meters for Martin Hamann. The German champion got a lot of bonus points, so the distance is not completely worthless. And Peter Prevc has it even worse in terms of wind. 127.5 meters is a lot for the conditions. At least he’s eighth. Hamann is second on the lucky loser list.
2:41 p.m. – Campregher – Lindvik
Marius Lindvik has no trouble in the duel against the Italian Andrea Campregher. 133.5 meters even mean fourth place.
2:38 p.m. – Deschwanden – Schmid
Gregor Deschwanden is not coming back to this hill yesterday or today. Only 124.5 meters for the Swiss who are so strong this season. Constantin Schmid tops that. With 128.5 meters the German is further. But it was his weakest jump yesterday and today. Tenth place for now.
2:35 p.m. – Tande – Kobayashi
Daniel-André Tande reaches 122.5 meters. Junshiro Kobayashi, Ryoyu’s brother, doesn’t come close. Only 121.5 meters with better wind. Tande is through.
2:33 p.m. – Aigro – Imhof
The Swiss Remo Imhof can look forward to qualifying for the final with 127 meters and a win against Artti Aigro.
2:31 p.m. – Sundal – Raimund
This is followed by the duel with the sixth from Oberstdorf, Philipp Raimund. His opponent Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal from Norway reaches 126 meters. The German clearly tops that with 134 meters, but he makes a mistake when landing. With difficulty he avoids a fall, but the grades are low. That’s why he’s only tenth, but at least he’s still further.
2:28 p.m. – Koudelka – Leyhe
Now the duel with Stephan Leyhe. His opponent Roman Koudelka from the Czech Republic reaches 126 meters. But the German clearly surpasses that. A very strong 138 meters! But he had a boost, so he stays behind Kobayashi and Hörl and is third.
2:25 p.m. – Kalinichenko – Bresadola
Giovanni Bresadola from Italy reaches 125.5 meters in a duel against Ukrainian Vitaliy Kalinichenko.
2:23pm – Belshaw – Kos
The Slovenian Lovro Kos, who was strong in Oberstdorf, is also now showing a good jump. At 130.5 meters he is at the forefront. He has no trouble in his duel against Erik Belshaw.
2:21 p.m. – Geiger – Insam
129 meters for Karl Geiger mean fifth place. At least that was better than yesterday. For Alex Insam the final stop is at 125.5 meters. Geiger thus in the final. It’s just a matter of waiting and seeing what it’s worth trying.
2:19 p.m. – Nousiainen – Kobayashi
But now the duel with Ryoyu Kobayashi. His opponent Eetu Nousiainen lands at 120.5 meters. And then Kobayashi sails to a very strong 137 meters. He’s fully involved today. It’s even a tenth lead!
2:17 p.m. – Hörl – Aigner
And now Jan Hörl, the best of the rehearsal. And now the Austrian is shining too. 140 meters! This will be a place right at the front after round one. You can already say that. Clemens Aigner doesn’t have a chance in the Austrian duel, but the 133.5 meters means he’s virtually certain to qualify for the final and take second place.
2:15 p.m. – Frantz – Tschofenig
Daniel Tschofenig has no trouble against Tate Frantz from the USA. 128.5 meters means third place overall for the Austrian.
2:13 p.m. – Nikaido – Nakamura
In the Japanese duel, Ren Nikaido clearly prevails against Naoki Nakamura. With 128 meters with a tailwind he is even second.
2:11 p.m. – Kubacki – Forfang
Dawid Kubacki lands at 128 meters. Johann-André Forfang went one meter further, but he also had worse winds and was therefore significantly further. Kubacki is threatened with elimination here because he is already fourth among the lucky losers.
2:08 p.m. – Granerud – Stoch
And now the duel between two tour winners: Halvor Egner Granerud meets Kamil Stoch. 128 meters for the Norwegian with a slight upwind. This is doable for Stoch. 130 meters for the Pole, but had even better wind. But it’s enough for Stoch. But in the overall ranking it is already only fifth.
2:06 p.m. – Kytosaho – Zniszczol
The Pole Alexander Zniszczol clearly wins his duel against the Finn Niko Kytosaho with 128 meters.
2:04 p.m. – Foubert – Hoffmann
One hatch was shortened. The Frenchman Valentin Foubert reaches 126.5 meters. But that is surpassed by Felix Hoffmann. 129.5 meters and the German is in the second round!
2:00 p.m. – Valto – Paschke
Let’s start with Kasperi Valto. And it underlines his good form with 131 meters. This won’t be easy for Pius Paschke. But the German manages his best jump of these two days! 135.5 meters and victory in the duel. But Valto can hope for the lucky loser list here.
INFO – Nine Germans
A total of nine DSV eagles are at the start, as the national group is also in action here. Everyone qualified for the competition. In the first duel, Pius Paschke starts against the Finn Kasperi Valto, who left a very good impression on this hill yesterday.
INFO – Small anniversary
It’s a kind of highlight of the tour: the knockout system. This competition system is being used for exactly the 100th time today. For the first time there was a man-on-man duel in ski jumping during the 1996/97 tour.
INFO – The test run
The test run at the Olympic ski jump ended a few minutes ago. Jan Hörl was the outstanding athlete with an attempt at 142 meters. After that it was shortened, but the Austrian was clearly the best when converted. Behind him, Ryoyu Kobayashi backed up his claims in second place. Andreas Wellinger was eighth.
