Found guilty of murdering her husband, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison

The crime had caused a great stir in La Baule and Pornichet. Two years after the death of Jean-Charles Mahieux, manager of a motorcycle store, his companion was sentenced Monday evening to twenty years of criminal imprisonment by the Loire-Atlantique Assize Court. This 55-year-old woman is found guilty of the murder of her husband, reports West France.

On June 4, 2020, on returning from his day at work, the 52-year-old man was fatally injured in the chest by a gunshot fired in his accommodation in Pornichet. Desperate and angry after the announcement of a final break, Karine B. went to get a weapon and then pulled the trigger at close range. She then put the rifle and ammunition away and covered the victim with a duvet.

She was found the next day by the emergency services, unconscious near the lifeless body, after having ingested a large dose of medication. During the hearing, Karine B. asked for forgiveness from those close to Jean-Charles Mahieux.
