In Fortnite you will soon be able to dive into battle again solo or with your friends. Epic has launched Season 1 of Chapter 5 and resourceful data miners have now discovered more information about the new map. We’ll show you more about it.
What’s happening in Fortnite right now? All players are currently stuck in the loading screen due to the server down and are eagerly waiting to finally be able to play Fortnite. Since the update file had already been published, resourceful data miners got to work on the new hidden content.
The new map was discovered, with which players will play for more months until the next chapter. We show you a quick look at the new map in the game in the trailer:

New map with little changes
Has anything changed? The new Chapter 5 map is very different from the previous maps that Fortnite introduces for each new chapter. Shiina, a well-known leaker for Fortnite, pulled them from the data for you:
On the map, snow-covered mountains can be seen in the north, east and southeast. These have some POIs that can be recognized from a bird’s eye view based on buildings. In the middle and western part of the map the snow disappears and green meadows and trees can be seen. Other POIs adorn the map, while the most noticeable is the new rail system.
In the new launch trailer for Chapter 5, players were able to hijack a train that was actively moving on the map. It remains exciting to see how the map can actually be played when players can move freely on it.
It is not known whether the map will change to reflect the upcoming winter event and whether the entire map will be covered with snow. However, it could be quite possible that Epic Games has something planned for this, because leakers have already found evidence of a winter event in the data.
