After Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement, the international media wrote with respect about the four-time Formula 1 world champion.

The BBC in England, for example, recognized the German’s commitment to human rights and the environment as an “important figure off the race track”. “A great Formula 1 resigns,” stated the “Blick” in Switzerland. Spain’s “Mundo Deportivo” said: “One of the greats is leaving us.”

The “Guardian” in England wrote that Vettel was “much missed” in the paddock. “He is admired as a driver and as a person and is consistently popular with his competitors.”

Vettel drives for the English Formula 1 team Aston Martin. At the end of this season, the Heppenheimer wants to end his career. The 35-year-old has been world champion four times – just as often as the Frenchman Alain Prost. Only Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher (both 7) and Juan Manuel Fangio (5) were world champions more often.
