Haas racing team fails with objection to Austin result

It remains the Formula 1 race result in Austin. The race stewards rejected the subsequent complaint from Nico Hülkenberg’s team.
The American Haas team’s objection to the outcome of the Formula 1 race in Austin failed quickly.
After a video conference with those involved, the race stewards of the previous São Paulo Grand Prix decided that the so-called Right of Review, i.e. the new review of possible violations at the World Championship round in Texas, would be rejected.
The stewards of the Brazil race were responsible for this because the request from Haas in São Paulo was received on Friday last week.
Video footage from onboard cameras
Haas wanted to challenge the result of the US race from mid-October using video footage from onboard cameras. These were intended to prove that other pilots had violated the track limit, i.e. had left the track illegally with all four wheels, but this had not been punished.
According to Haas, these were Sergio Pérez in the Red Bull, Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant in the Williams and Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin. All four drivers made it into the top ten in the race.
Haas’ regular German driver Nico Hülkenberg finished eleventh, but if there had been subsequent penalties he could have moved up. Kevin Magnussen finished 14th in the second car from team boss Günther Steiner’s racing team.
Haas’ application was rejected because the team could not provide any new, significant and relevant evidence that the racing team could not have already had at the time of the decision on the outcome of the race.
