Former striker Bruno Rodriguez amputated with a leg “due to permanent suffering”

The news hurts my heart and guts. A well-known figure in the French championship in the years 1990-2000, the Bastiais Bruno Rodriguez had to have his leg amputated “by dint of permanent suffering”, as written by the UNFP, the union of professional players, in a supportive tweet posted on Saturday. A little earlier in the day, PSG also went there with its message, without specifying the nature of the illness from which its former striker suffered.

“Paris Saint-Germain sends a message of support to its former striker Bruno Rodriguez, his family and those close to him in this difficult ordeal. The Club brings you all its strength and hopes to be able to welcome you as soon as possible to the Parc des Princes”.

A much appreciated adventurer in the French championship

Earlier in the week, Sporting Club de Bastia, which hosted the player between 1993 and 1996, also sent all its love to its former striker and spoke for its part of a “heavy surgery”. Trained in Monaco and played for many French clubs (Strasbourg, Metz, Lens, Guingamp, Ajaccio, Clermont), Bruno Rodriguez scored 69 goals in 234 Ligue 1 games.
