Former SEC Official Defends Gensler — Urges Crypto Community to Stop Attacking Individuals and focus on the facts

John Reed Stark, former head of internet enforcement at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has defended Chairman Gary Gensler’s approach to regulating the crypto industry.

“It’s time to attack the facts and the legality of the SEC’s position and stop attacking the president. or officials personally.”

John Reed Stark urged the crypto community to stop personally attacking Gensler. John Reed Stark is currently president of the cybersecurity firm John Reed Stark Consulting he founded and served for 11 years as head of the SEC Office of Internet Enforcement; and He was also an SEC law enforcement attorney for 15 years.

Gensler has said several times that all crypto tokens other than bitcoin ( BTC ) are securities. However, when Congressman Patrick McHenry questioned Gensler in April about whether ether (ETH) was a security, Gensler deflected a direct answer. affirming that he will not have any prejudice in this regard.

Many crypto advocates criticized Gensler for taking a regulatory approach to regulating the crypto industry, and the SEC chairman was also heavily scrutinized for his meetings with FTX executives, including former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. which is currently being charged with several criminal cases

Stark believes that Gensler can voice his opinion whenever he wants. He also has the freedom to decide whether to hold a meeting with management. cryptocurrency or not, or as often as needed
