Former employees of the Complexus Care health center file a complaint

A collective complaint, in particular for harassment, was filed Tuesday at the public health center of the Marseille prosecutor’s office by three former employees of Complexus Care, a holistic health center near Aix-en-Provence which offers 100% therapeutic follow-up at distance and already subject to complaints for the illegal practice of medicine.

These complaints for “harassment at work” and “fraudulent abuse of the state of ignorance” follow another collective complaint, brought by former patients of this center, for illegal practice of medicine and fraud in particular, filed at the beginning of June with this same public prosecutor’s office.

“A company of charlatans”

“Complexus Care is a company of charlatans based on a system of generalized fraud and whose sole purpose is to make the maximum amount of money possible,” Jean-Laurent Abbou, the lawyer for these former employees, told AFP.

Founded in 2021 by Hocine Sekkiou, a fan of unconventional medicine and known for his health videos on Instagram, Complexus Care employs nutritionists and naturopaths, officially in “synergy” with doctors in Belgium. Without ever having met their patients, the latter prescribed heavy drug treatments, treatments that were sometimes very controversial.

However, according to numerous testimonies collected by AFP, the medical follow-up offered was identical or almost identical for all patients, whatever their pathologies: thyroid problems, infertility or long Covid. All for an exorbitant cost not covered by Social Security.
