There aren’t many ex-managers who remain in the spotlight at their former place of work as much as the former program director for culture, Reinhard Scolik, at Bayerischer Rundfunk. On the one hand, this is due to BR director Katja Wildermuth and head of the board of directors Ilse Aigner, CSU. Scolik said goodbye at the end of 2021 very early by “mutual agreement” with a severance payment, the amount of which was not disclosed, although – Scolik’s contract of employment had just been recently extended – it cost the broadcaster at least Scolik’s salary for the remaining 33 months of the contract of almost 700,000 euros should have. Inquiries about this come to nothing for all three. Aigner has said that she wants to create more transparency in the future. But that doesn’t help anymore.
The highly official secrecy naturally fuels speculation of all kinds
In the past few days, Scolik has even been very noticeable. He was spotted by BR employees, for example, at the most important BR event of the year in terms of quota, at the live broadcast of Fastnacht in Franconia from Veitshöchheim, as half of a Camilla Charles couple. But the transmitter found another detail even more confusing. In the upcoming staff council elections, Scolik was discovered by the staff council list “Die Neuen” in the electoral register, which actually only contains BR employees. BR employees wondered whether Scolik was actually still among them, which is almost reminiscent of a ghost story, but on the other hand, given the highly official secrecy surrounding the case, it is perhaps no wonder.
When asked, a BR spokesman explained that the staff council election was a repeat election in 2021; Therefore, the electoral register is “in principle” that of the time, but “adapted accordingly”. The name of the former director was erroneously on the list and has since been deleted. Scolik himself says that the error is annoying, and (“just to clarify”): “I definitely left BR on December 31, 2021.”
