Former crime scene detective dies at the age of 87

Hall/MZ. – The actor, director and theater director Peter Sodann is dead. He died at the age of 87. The actor and former nt director fell asleep peacefully in Halle on Friday, as the family announced.

Peter Sodann: A legacy that lasts

Sodann, who was director of the new theater (nt) in Halle, which he founded in Halle in 1981, until 2005, was one of the most well-known theater personalities in Germany.

He became known to a wide audience on television as “Tatort” detective Bruno Ehrlicher, whom he played between 1992 and 2007.

Cultural commitment until the end

Sodann, who was born in Meißen in 1936, last lived in Halle and in Staucha, Saxony (Meißen district), where he ran the Peter Sodann Library, in which he collected all books published between May 8, 1945 and May 2. October 1990 were published in eastern Germany.

In 2005, Peter Sodann was made an honorary citizen of Halle.
