There are several thousand kilometers and nine days between the “Universum” (a science center in Bremen) and the Amerikahaus in Munich – exactly the distance that Annalena Baerbock traveled in her search for Germany’s security. The fact that the foreign minister stopped in the Freedom Hall and Nuremberg’s “Street of Human Rights” is part of the symbolic extras that the Foreign Ministry did not always plan, but gratefully accepted. It’s not easy to carry the big security policy to the market squares, especially when, as in the north Bavarian courtyard, right behind the Freedom Hall, a fun fair with a “Hell’s Ride” lures.
