As a result of the Russian war of aggression, Ukraine’s economic output will almost halve this year, according to a World Bank forecast. According to the World Bank, gross domestic product will fall by around 45 percent compared to the previous year. However, the organization said that “the extent of the economic slump” would depend on “the duration and intensity of the war”. The International Monetary Fund had previously forecast that economic output would fall by up to a third in the event of a prolonged war. Almost a third of all Ukrainian companies, which account for more than half of economic output, are in war zones.
