According to the weather service, the weather will be unusually warm in Germany this weekend. A temperature record could be broken on Saturday.

The weather in Germany will be on Sunny weekend and exceptionally warm for this time of year – a weather record is possible. “Unusually warm, North African subtropical air will reach us again this weekend,” explained meteorologist Christian Herold from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach. In the south there is even a possibility that the 30 degree mark will be reached – “a temperature level that has never been reached before at the beginning of April.”

However, the DWD again announced a large amount of Sahara dust. The sunshine will probably not be completely unclouded. In the extreme north and northeast the temperatures reach 19 to 24 degrees, otherwise 24 to 29 degrees and in the Upper Rhine even up to 30 degrees. It cools down a bit on Sunday night: the lowest temperatures are 17 to 8 degrees, in the south and southeast it is 10 to 4 degrees.

According to the DWD, a “northwest-southeast temperature gradient” will set in from Sunday. While in the northwest it remains comparatively “cool” with lots of clouds at only 18 to 23 degrees, in the southeast it can get up to 30 degrees again. It may rain occasionally in the north towards evening. Depending on cloud cover, temperatures drop to 13 to 6 degrees at night.

The DWD expects a cooling down in the new week: For Monday, the meteorologists predicted highs of up to 29 degrees, and by the middle of the week the temperatures should fall back to a “normal level”. “Both a stable high-pressure area with several sunny days and a stronger influx of cold air are not in sight for the time being,” said meteorologist Herold.
