The second month of the year shows its gray side at the beginning. Wind and clouds dominate the weather.

A lot of wind and clouds dominate the weather in Germany in the first days of February. Only in the east and northeast is it partly clear on Thursday, the German Weather Service in Offenbach announced on Tuesday. Temperatures are well above freezing at times during the day.

Highs of between three and nine degrees are expected for Wednesday. “Stormy gusts are threatening throughout Germany. Up to 70 kilometers per hour can be reached in the south and over the middle, and up to 80 kilometers per hour in the north,” announced the meteorologist Jacqueline Kernn. On the coasts and on the North and East Frisian Islands, severe gusts of wind as well as hurricane-like gusts on the Brocken and in the Ore Mountains should be expected.

In addition, there are always showers, sometimes sleet mixed in, isolated thunderstorms are possible. On Thursday the wind will gradually decrease, it can rain or snow for a long time in the Alps and in the west and south-west. Friday will bring a lot of rain, especially in the eastern half, but it can also snow in the higher mountains. The values ​​​​are widely between six and ten degrees.
