For the last time Theater im Schwere Reiter, by Stefan Kastner – Munich

We already know one thing in advance: If Stefan Kastner makes a theatrical performance with the title “Announcement of a Vorarlberg theater group in times of pandemic”, then no Vorarlberg theater company will appear. In the specific case not because it is still stuck on the border in Bregenz. So this performance is one of something that is not there, and for this Kastner wrote one of the most beautiful of his meanwhile numerous beautiful texts.

Kastner is alone on stage, he is Heinz Kaschubek. He had ancestors in Kashubia, where some crusaders who had become unemployed settled on their way back from the promised land and one of them founded the Kashubian tribe with a Kashubian farmer’s widow, who now live in Berg am Laim. This is also where this newspaper is based, but it has nothing to do with Kaschubek, Crusaders and Kashubia.

The three appearances of the Vorarlbergers that do not come are the last theater performances that can be seen in the old Schwere Reiter, from October 25th to 27th. At the end of the month there is still a dance production by Micha Purucker, that’s it for the time being with the beloved, impossible room with its wonderful atmosphere, then the games only take place opposite, in the great new house, and the old one can hope for a future rebirth. There is divine support for that, the Kastner takes care of that.

In their disappearance, the glaciers set free spirits and gods in the Munich gravel plain

Because somehow it seems so, if Mr. Kaschubek is right, that the glaciers, which disappeared many years ago and left the Munich gravel plain, released the ghosts and gods enclosed in them in their disappearance. These are now administered by the Gotterkundemuseum in Munich, which is located in the Alte Münze and is headed by Dominik Wilgenbus. You can see that in the films that Kastner made – in order to plan the production safely, Kastner decided to stand alone on the stage and talk to the people in these wonderfully quirky, concrete films.

So while Kaschubek, on behalf of the employment office and with the support of several editions of Kant’s reviews and the writings of other philosophers, including Kastner, makes the Vorarlberg performance, which will not take place, palatable to the audience, the films contain very funny, interwoven stories instead of. Friedrich Nietzsche (Luis Goodwin), running free at Fröttmaninger Kirchlein, has to be caught by the police, Katja Brenner and Uli Zentner form a couple who want to use the proceeds of stolen ink pads to go to Ecuador, Rainer Haustein manages his office and himself with the greatest of ease The spirit of contradiction of Denise (Lena Sammüller) dignified and spoils the Kaschubek his love happiness. But Stefan Kastner sings an aria from Handel’s “Jephtha” about virgin happiness in the stars, and so everything turns out well.
