For or against the resale of second-hand fast fashion clothing? Tell us…

On the eve of Black Friday, Vestiaire Collective is going against the tide of overconsumption with its own event, the “Better Friday.” For the occasion, the second-hand online shopping platform has put a definitive end to the resale of fast fashion clothing. More than 30 brands, including Zara, H&M, Gap, Uniqlo, Mango, Urban Outfitters, and Abercrombie & Fitch are affected and can no longer be sold or purchased.

The motivation behind this decision? Vestiaire Collective encourages its customers to buy clothes that last over time, and to adopt responsible consumption by recycling their poor quality clothes rather than reselling them. An initiative which aims to curb the sales of these brands which have a negative impact on our planet.

Were you Vestiaire Collective customers for these brands? Will this news change your relationship with second-hand fast fashion?
