Footballer Christian Eriksen trains in his Danish homeland, cardiac arrest at EM – Newsticker

As reported by the Danish newspaper “BT”, the Inter Milan midfielder has secretly started to train on the club grounds of his home club Odense BK. A club spokesman confirmed this on dpa request.

The 109-time Danish international suddenly collapsed on the pitch on June 12 during the European Championship opening match between Denmark and Finland in Copenhagen. Dramatic minutes followed his cardiac arrest. Eriksen had to be resuscitated, and quick medical intervention saved his life. How the 29-year-old’s career will continue is still open.

Eriksen comes from the small Danish town of Middelfart, but moved to Odense when he was young. From there he moved on to Ajax Amsterdam at the age of 16 – and this club is now once again associated with the Dane: The Italian sports paper “Gazzetta dello Sport” brought the Dutch club into play as a possible change destination for the Dane. There he played from 2010 to 2013.

Eriksen is not allowed to play in the Italian league because of his defibrillator. That would be possible in the Netherlands. Accordingly, clubs in England and Denmark would also be possible. According to “BT”, Eriksen stayed with his partner and their two children in a large house in Odense during the summer – only a few hundred meters from the club’s premises.
