Football: Qatar Sheikh withdraws bid for Manchester United – Economy

Even before the New York Stock Exchange opened on Monday, it was clear that something wasn’t quite right with Manchester United: The English football club’s share price fell 18 percent in pre-market trading. After that things picked up a bit again, but that shouldn’t really calm the club down. The fall in share prices was triggered by news from several media outlets that the Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani is said to have withdrawn his offer to buy the football club.
