The main leaders of the list in the European elections were invited, Thursday, to defend their project before the French Democratic Confederation of Labor (CFDT) during a morning where the extreme right, not invited by the union, was targeted by the most candidates.
The representative of the majority, Valérie Hayer (Renaissance), Raphaël Glucksmann (Socialist Party – Public Square), Manon Aubry (La France insoumise), Marie Toussaint (Les Ecologistes), Léon Deffontaines (French Communist Party) and Aurélien Caron (in 17e position on the Republican list) have in turn presented their vision of Europe, a little over two weeks before the June 9 election.
The general secretary of the CFDT, Marylise Léon, estimated that the extreme right represented “the return of national selfishness” and asserted that “the CFDT would never work in this scheme”. “We do not discuss with the extreme right, we fight them. We are therefore not receiving them for this hearing”added Béatrice Lestic, national secretary of the union.

The environmentalist candidate, Marie Toussaint, warned of the “rise of the extreme right in France, but also everywhere in Europe” Who “endangers the European project”. “Faced with this brown pact, we must oppose it with a green pact”she defended, regretting that ecology and “the most precarious” be the “two scapegoats” current policies.
