Atmospheres that invite you to travel

From the spring summer catalog of La Redoute Interiors to the new outdoor products in the Maisons du Monde 2023 catalog, we find a major decoration trend: the invitation to travel.

Mediterranean atmosphere

Bright, cheerful and colorful: the decor inspired by the shores of the Mediterranean immediately brings a summer spirit to the house. To adopt it, we therefore focus first on blue, whether we associate it with white or – better! – in the color sand. This iconic tandem works both indoors and outdoors!

Riviera atmosphere

The trendiest, however, is the Riviera decoration. As its name suggests, this style draws its inspiration from the Côte d’Azur. It is characterized by its vitaminized and resolutely Arty aesthetic. We therefore borrow without complex some iconic motifs from artists who have left their mark on the Riviera, starting with Matisse.

Want more of a change of scenery? Opt for a decoration inspired by the more distant shores of South America.

Cushions and rugs bring a very cozy note to this festive atmosphere. And if we love the graphic patterns such as the wave, we also love the floral or aquatic XL patterns.

In this spring summer 2023 season, we are also traveling in time, by adopting retro decoration. Very chic, the Mid Century style remains a safe bet.

To stick to the trends, however, we bet for a little Senventies spirit.

A Bright Monochrome Interior

This season, the major decoration trends are finally inviting us on an inner journey. We like soft, natural and refined frames, with a predilection for white, beige and ecru. We try our hand at monochrome decoration, playing with materials.

The return of pastel colors

This season, when it comes to colors, we always love bright neutrals.

This type of airy and mineral palette serves as a pretext to stage wood – one of the key materials of the spring summer 2023 season. We particularly like light species such as birch, rattan or bamboo. .

  Dark Wood

For a more sophisticated contemporary look, on the other hand, dark wood is preferred, which continues to gain ground in the decor.

The Return of Gray and Polished Concrete

In the family of trendy neutrals, we see the reappearance of gray. And with it, waxed concrete is back in the limelight, despite competition from whitewash – an essential material this year.

However, it is the strong colors that dominate. Among them, shades already spotted this winter, such as cognac or cumin, as well as aquatic shades of blue-green. This season we add purple, which brings an almost mystical touch to the decor.

  Warm Colors Set The Tone

From burnt red to Viva Magenta!, Pantone’s color of the year 2023, warm tones have to be reckoned with. We find of course the burnt red, as well as the orange and the yellow. However, it is the roses that lead the dance.

Glass Vases

To bring freshness, we put on pretty branches and bouquets, which we place in transparent or colored glass vases.

The big star of the season, however, is green. We always love pale green and bright shades like mint green. We love the more subtle shades such as sage green, olive green or even khaki.

The Return of Pastels

The season is particularly marked by the return of pastel colors – with a predilection for lavender.

To avoid overdoing it, we avoid the total look, by combining a soft color with a deep color such as a warm brown or a vibrant color such as indigo blue.

Spring summer 2023: the pieces to shop

Whichever trend you prefer, certain pieces are must-haves this season.

Ceramics

Minimalist or enhanced with patterns, ceramics remain the ornament that we prefer in the bedroom as in the living room.

  The Ribbed Glass Showcase

Transparent, but not too much, the ribbed glass! And it’s an asset that has made it ultra-trendy. The essential piece is the glass and metal showcase, which finds its place in almost any room.

  A Jewel Mirror

In rattan, wood, metal or resin, round, rectangular or organic: the mirror is the essential wall decoration of the season. We choose it like a jewel that we highlight above a low piece of furniture, or to sublimate a lost corner of the wall.

The Linen Suspension
© Alinea

This season, the bamboo suspension has competition: the suspension with a linen lampshade. A must have that works just as well in the bedroom or living room as it does in the kitchen.

To wake up the decor, we play with geometric decoration – with a particular taste for checkerboard decor. We adopt it for the dishes, for the household linen, or especially for the carpet!
