Flood situation in Bavaria is easing – new heavy rain announced – Bavaria

The flood situation in Bavaria has eased further. In the night on Wednesday there were no major operations due to flooding, several police stations reported in the morning. However, the warnings of the flood intelligence service against flooding remain in place for large parts of southern Bavaria.

Flooding is expected to continue, especially on the Danube. According to the Landshut Water Management Office, the Danube could reach the highest reporting level 4 at the Kelheim measuring point on Wednesday evening, which corresponds to flooding of built-up areas on a larger scale. According to forecasts, the highest water level with notification level 3 will be reached in Neuburg an der Donau on Wednesday morning. Individual developed plots of land or basements can be flooded.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the continuous rain should subside on Wednesday at the edge of the Alps and in the adjacent foreland. From the afternoon local rain showers and heavy rain can occur with the exception of the Alpine region in Bavaria. Wind gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour and small-grain hail are also possible. The temperatures vary according to the information between 16 and 22 degrees.
