For an hour there were massive problems with WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram!
Numerous users could not use the platforms of the US group Meta. No voice messages or pictures could be sent on WhatsApp, and Instagram users could not upload stories.
The Facebook Messenger app was also affected, according to data from the All Disruptions platform. By 9:30 p.m., almost 10,000 fault reports had been received there because of WhatsApp and Facebook. Only Instagram seems to have been hit less hard with 2500 disruption reports.
By 10 p.m. the spook was over. The social media services are working again.
How the disruption came about is still unclear. Experience has shown that the meta group rarely comments on technical problems. In recent years, failures have occurred at regular intervals of several months. That’s how it was WhatsApp shut down for almost two hours in October 2022. (nko)
