Ricardo Pepi moves to the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg for a record sum. Bayern Munich should also have been on the 18-year-old.
FC Augsburg has officially announced the signing of Ricardo Pepi from FC Dallas. The 18-year-old striker signed a contract with the Fuggerstadt-based company until the summer of 2026. According to consistent media reports, the transfer fee should be around 17.5 million euros – a record amount for the FCA.
“I see FC Augsburg and the Bundesliga as the perfect environment to be able to gather a lot of match practice at the highest level as a young player,” said Pepi. The American was initially traded loosely at Bayern Munich. In the past few weeks everything looked like a transfer to VfL Wolfsburg, but Augsburg finally made the race for the talent.

“We are delighted that Ricardo has decided to move to FCA despite the interest of numerous top international clubs,” said Augsburg’s managing director Stefan Reuter. Pepi gets the jersey with the number 18 at his new club.
For the USA, Pepi has already played seven full international matches, in which he scored three goals.
