Five new starred restaurants in Loire-Atlantique and Vendée

Perhaps less famous than other territories with the general public, the gastronomy of Pays-de-la-Loire has managed to make people talk about it in the 2023 list of the Michelin Guide. Already because the Vendée chef Alexandre Couillon, from the La Marine restaurant in Noirmoutier, obtained the coveted third star on Monday. But also because no less than five restaurants in the region have managed to earn their first star from the famous guide.

Three of the five are in Vendée. It is Abissiou, directed by the young chef Boris Harispe, in Les Sables-d’Olonne. There is also the restaurant Les Reflets, by chef Nathan Cretney, in La Roche-sur-Yon. As well as La Maison Desamy, run by the Bessonet couple, in Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissaisnear Luzon.

The downgraded Castel Marie-Louise

Loire-Atlantique also has two new winners. The cuisine of Charles Bernabé, at the head of the restaurant Cadets, located rue des Hauts-pavés in Nantes, was thus rewarded. The restaurant L’Epicurien, located in the hotel complex of the Abbaye de Villeneuve, in Sorinières, also received its first star. This establishment, managed by chef Aymeric Depogny, has only been open since last June.

It should be noted that the Nantes restaurant Roza retains its star, despite the will expressed by its leader to no longer be listed in the Michelin Guide. As for the Castel Marie-Louise establishment in La Baule, it will lose its only star in 2023.
