Five metro lines closed for work in April

“In April, don’t uncover yourself by a thread,” says the adage. However, he forgets to specify that you should also not forget to anticipate your transport journeys. Indeed, a few months before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games which begin on July 26, the RATP is launching a major work campaign on its tracks.

And because the holidays are more favorable to this type of disruption, it is during the spring holidays that those of five Paris metro lines will begin, which will then be temporarily interrupted.

Buses will compensate for certain services on line 2

No line 2 during the holidays therefore, from April 7 to 13, between the Barbès-Rochechouard and Père-Lachaise stations, which will see its tracks renewed. Buses will provide service between Nation and Père-Lachaise during metro hours.

Line 5 closes this Easter weekend between the Bobigny – Pablo-Picasso and Jaurès stations, due to work. Thus the Laumière, Ourcq, Porte de Pantin, Hoche, Église de Pantin, Bobigny – Pantin Raymond-Queneau and Bobigny – Pablo-Picasso stations will be completely closed and the Jaurès station becomes a temporary terminus but remains open. A replacement bus will serve the closed stations in both directions.

Early closure of evening service for line 6

Without stopping permanently, line 6 will cut its service from 10 p.m., this Monday April 1, Tuesday April 2 and Wednesday April 3, between Charles-de-Gaulle – Étoile and Nation, in both directions. Replacement buses are planned between Étoile and La Motte-Picquet Grenelle, as well as between Daumesnil and Nation. This same closure will also be applied on Monday April 8 and Tuesday April 9, then Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from April 15 to May 1.

Line 11, which is preparing its extension to Rosny-Bois-Perrier (Seine-Saint-Denis), will also completely stop its service from Friday April 12 to Saturday April 27 between Belleville and Mairie des Lilas. On Sunday April 28, the entire line will be interrupted to test its new MP14 trainsets.

Finally, closed this Easter weekend, line 14 will also be stopped from April 7 to 14. A week during which the RATP will be able to carry out performance tests on the extended areas of this line which will connect Saint-Denis Pleyel in the north to Orly airport in the south. A second closure will take place from May 8 to 12 for final tests on this line which will fully open at the end of June.
